Taught to love

Taught to love

A Poem by Jen_ma_cat

There are two kinds of people on this earth
The ones born to love
And the ones taught to love
I was taught

I have always been able to see the world
In all its cruel clarity
In all it's sinister beauty
I hated the world
The black twisting vines of fate encased me
In my own pity and hate
The moment I was born
I already resented the world

I walked through life on my heels
My hand behind my back
Starring at the ground
Counting dead leaves
While others stared at the sky counting
Hopes and dreams

Like a light to bright to look at
You shined through my flaws
As if to fill up the empty space inside me
With a radiant light and
Joy

Together we where like a sun shower
Or like a bittersweet chocolate

So to you
The one who shined a new world into my eyes
I thank you
Even when we parted
Leaving me with light sun burnt kisses
That soon faded away
Like the lasting winter within myself
I thank you
You taught me how to love

About
Well I guess I'm a junior now. Am I ready? Ha, no. I don't post often, only when I feel inspired. I'm 16 years old and I might be the only 16 year old on the planet who wishes they weren't. I like art.. more..
