Her mind is full of questions

Right and wrong

Though she is wilful and strong

She’s lost in her own mind

 

Societal expectations surround her thoughts

As she returns to her heart

Remembering her true self

She pushes on

 

Under the skin of a woman

She feels like a man

Surrounding herself with questions

What’s right, what’s wrong.

 

Cleaning up the bloody mess

Left by one loved and lost

Picking up the few pieces

Left behind

 

A man in the body of a woman

Lost and confused

A lamb amongst the wolf pack

Defenceless and abused.

 

One day she’ll find her way

Into her true self

No longer hiding, no longer scared

Of what the world has to say.

Author's Note

This piece speaks of the hardships and self conflict involved with transgender peoples... There are many out there... Think to yourself, people... You are physically a man, but emotionally and psychologically a woman... How much confusion would this bring to you? how much more stressful would your already hectic life be, knowing that you are a socially unacceptable being?
