Spent words

Spent words

A Poem by Jennesis
"

Just missing my friend today...

"
The words are quiet today
Laying spent on blank sheets
From paper passion lovemaking
Ink stains smeared and wet
Breathless and unspeaking
From flowing lyrics and
Dancing metaphors

The words are silent
Under this blanket
Of lonely cloudy sadness

Gaining strength
During this block of refractory
Until the stanzas come together again
Merging their forms in new voices
Never heard before
This day of quiet words

Al, such a compliment. Thank you so much.
I'm just beginning to understand and better deal with those days when nothing wants to materialize. Perhaps it is an allotted time we are given, to simply take in what we already have.

Your words read with a voice that taunts me, Jenn. Awesome work!

You're so welcomed, Jenn. Oh, btw, I love the picture change on "She"!
It's an exhilarating feeling when something hits you with inspiration. There is no better fuel for a writer than pure inspiration. I myself have been struggling in that category lately. I suffered the severe emptiness of losing my Mother which put me in a writer's block for over a year. I am just now getting back. It's more fragments of thought and inspiration at the moment though. I can certainly relate to this piece.

We often mistake writer's block for much needed reflection. I really enjoyed this piece.

Oh this looks like a case of writers block,I had it for years. Then something good happens as love or maybe receive a smile and the block cracks and crumbles and you can write again

your quite welcome, wow your not sideways now lol
i really like this...it gains strength from stanza to stanza.....but when we suffer loss, often the words go silent...waiting to come together again....but we can't force them.
they will dance again when they are ready.

Yep.. Yep...this is what I am going to miss when I am gone. Your skills are in alignment with Jacob et.al. here in cafe. You are building a body of work to which your legacy will be remembered.
