Good and Evil

Good and Evil

A Poem by Jenny DelVecchio

I’m caught between good and evil
Temptations tip each side
I’m caught between good and evil
To which rules should I abide?

When anger boils
And blood flows
I see the sins set before

Yet love caresses
And calm grips my soul
I see good hearts lining my wake

I hover between good and evil
Between love and hatred
Happiness and sorrow

These ties jerk me
And distort me
Bending my mind to will
Making my choice impossible

My final word sets
My decision told
One of unknown
One of humanity

So I stay between good and evil
As temptations tip each side
I’m still caught between good and evil
With no rules to abide
