I'll never be

I'll never be

A Poem by RainFire

Quite non-literally the eternal light shifts form

External signs shown long ago, though overlooked

Intentional veiled self deception blankets what is there

Fallen leaves of the last autumn make tears freshly build a stream elegantly down angle cheeks

Why does it have to come, the dawn of the last day?

This and other queries break through the damn

The flood drowns out rationality

A psychic shout washes away the sting of unanswerable questions

Again alone the body rides through lingering days

Nights seemingly mesh together as nostalgia leaks through fissures of plastered doors

Bound too tightly as time fuels the suppressed

Looking out the windows, a beautiful scarlet sun winks in mock of the night to come

Cold abandonment of warmth submerges the heart

Once bearable as a burst of brain-freeze

Nausea lingering now consumes crushed hopes and un-cashed dreams
