Nightmare: RecurringA Poem by JesdorineHaving a nightmare and then waking up more scared of your reality. This dream I have is triggered by the thought of never being loved. In a place like no other. It's a wonderland with no time to discover. A crack in the clouds leaks angelic tunes At night an indigo, round new moon. Alien like creatures frolic the plains With glistening eyes and colourful manes And if what we see is what we get you bet, I want it all. Trees made of lilac crystals, Sharp. blown by winds, soft sounds, like harps. All around these scenes I see. A fantasy. Confusion A mere delusion. All is bright and fear evades Until I'm drawn to a desolate cave Dark and emitting what sounds like screams. Not a place you'd see in dreams. but in nightmares. My stomache clenches. The sight, the sounds the fragrent stenches. And if what we see is what we get. you bet, I still want it. Into the cave a carelessly follow Sensing a collage of sadness and sorrow. whispers faint, but loud as they cry. "Believe what you will but this is bye bye" What does it mean? these sounds from above? "You will never experience that feeling called love" This dream i desired, my reason for bed. I wake up fearful, that feeling of red. I look around, my room as it was feeling shaken, scared but also lost. But not from the dream that took a turn. From the reality im stuck in. This feeling. This burn. The boredom of life. The fear of death. And if I see is what I get You bet, I want to go back
