A Poem by JRGene

Sometimes we constantly ask ourselves
the what's, how's and why's.
We choose not to see
pachiderms lurking in the shadows.

Until it eventually hits us.
The day we finally accept
is indeed a day of discovery;
not of that which was always there
-for it was-
but of our own stupidity
for ignoring it's relentless lingering
all along...

How's are irrelevant,
Why's turn into "why not's"
and the "what" is not there anymore.
For it has already arrived.

We can only aspire to embrace it
before it fades into the horizon of our memories,
riding onto the never-forgotten lands
of "could-have-been's" and "come-and-go's"
