Fox Cry

Fox Cry

A Poem by ElizaB

The mind wrote
In the dark
A lovers note
To foxes bark;
I lay
In lies,
I stay
In disguise,
I wait
For him,
For fate
To begin,
Too late...
Lies spin
Inside
My skin;
Too late...
He said,
My trait
Of dread,
Stop this heart,
Already dead.
Still
I sit,
Always will,
Never admit
I cannot stop
I cannot break
This lovers knot
That keeps me awake.

So much depth and truth to your poem. You convey so well the self-inflicted mental and emotional torment we often experience, usually alone in a dark place.

I particularly like the short lines, illustrating how the mind leaps from one thought to the next, like a pinball bouncing from thought to thought, each triggering more doubt. Another nice piece.

I really enjoyed the flow of this poem. The rhymes really add to the rhythm of your writing and adds a punch to every sentence. I am also a sucker anytime the phrase 'Already Dead' is used in any poetry, music, or anything really. Keep up the great work!
