winter moon fields

winter moon fields

A Poem by J

she pauses to watch
the silver of the moon
shimmer over winter-white fields
      then sink beneath the snow
and drown

she knows not
what she creates
   but she can feel it

living
as the dark of her
     exhales

and in abandoning perfection

she knows
she has achieved it

you writing reads effortlessly and beautifully. That last verse..words to live by
I could be wrong but to me, this reminds me to feel the wind with all its temperament, let our thoughts ride the waves..abandon judgment and just feel the moment as is and just be. When we do that, all that we are and all that we create can only radiate.

Indeed we must abandon perfection and in doing so abandon attachment. Life is much more beautiful when we are objective and neutral. Poetry is a door, and it seems you have stepped into her house.

thank you for your beautiful review :)
by the light (da da ta da)
of the silvery moon (ta da da da)
i paused to stare (da da ta dum)
through the crystalline air (dum dum ta dum)
i abandoned my fear (da da ta da)
inhaled the night clear (ta ta ta dum)
in a silence so dear (ta da ta da)
by the light, by the light of the moon (dooah, dooah, dooah)

lol -- only you would sing along n make new words :)
yes...it's like instinctively knowing when to stop, how to capture it in a brushstroke...the sense is not always there, but when it is, it's like riding on air

The personification in this is achingly beautiful. She creates such beauty effortlessly, unaware of what she does. For what she does is enough and no longer needs to be perfection just beautiful. I love the imagery in these lines:

the silver of the moon
shimmer over winter-white fields
then sink beneath the snow
and drown

Oh my, how beautifully you write! Your emotions held the pen with this one, j.. and the picture does so much justice to your words. Those three last lines are amongst the most courageous I've read. In fact, we all need to be content with who and what we are.. in spite of .. (You)
