Thoughts in coloured pencil

Thoughts in coloured pencil

A Poem by J

And so she surrenders

      to the abrasion

of less-gentle textures

      chafing cheeks, whiskering bare floors

of moon.molds and tender feet

But it was always her choice of blossoms

that seemed to bruise at the delicate touch

of ineffable breezes

agitating colours

         crayon shaving patterings

settling in perplexity

Maybe it’s t.i.m.e.

like a gift

      inanimate but living

holding place markers to percolating desires

the annoyance of contrary time zones

and lunch hour rush tripping

over loose shoelaces . . .

She tries to name the folding moments

as she has a thousand times before

                 carefully chipping smiles

smoothing back her hair

setting the world to rights in a single gesture

       in balance and bruises

        And then she  knows

with sleepy skin and fragile thoughts

a fistful left of feather whispers

disintegrates her dreams to naught.

Colored pencils with shavings of whittling thoughts and soft colors of rose and lemon and green, directing visions of the heart to paper, revealing in thin lines and wide shadows the wishes, happiness, and dissappointment when dreams seem but caricatures of desire's finest impressions. But then there is tomorrow, a new day.

Excellent...!

I always love your abstract description of state of mind of women, melancholy and dreaming intertwined.. -you shift my mood always, I know this before I read...

As said before: beautiful! I like how abstract it is, mixed with such wonderful concrete images.

It's finding time for thoughts, colouring the dull, storing the beautiful, living on their feast .. for surely then - and this could be only a guess, the best survives amongst the not so ..

Beautiful how you bring this out....how it's well nigh impossible to recall the essence of folding moments when we fall back into our true selves.
