Where Did You Go?

Where Did You Go?

A Poem by Dr Joe
"

A father speaks to his daughter.

"
Where Did You Go?

Where are you, you were just here, I looked for you, but you were gone.

Why can’t I hear you laughing and running through the halls, why can’t I hear you quietly sitting on your bed reading, I looked for you, but you were gone.

Why aren’t you dressed in your cute little uniform waiting to go to school, why aren’t you riding in the limousine heading to the prom, I looked for you, but you were gone.

Why aren’t you enjoying those glorious college years anymore, why aren’t we discussing that first big job opportunity, I looked for you, but you were gone.

I know the years wait for no one and change makes it harder to find those people we did not know where gone.

What’s that you say?

There is another?

Oh my, he is beautiful, he is perfect.

A grandson you say!

I see him now running through the halls screaming with laughter, I see him sitting on his bed as you read to him.

I see him growing big and strong, I see him as smart and kind, I see you in him.

Another chance, thank you, love you.
