Help

Sometimes you really want to help, but whatever you say has no effect because the problem is just to big, to sad or to hard to carry, so at last you can´t carry it with them anymore.

There is a wall

Where you used to stand

I want to tear it down

But I don´t know if I can

You think I don´t love you

You think I don´t care

But the wall is harder to tear down

If we put it there

I´ve run out of air

I can tell

I´ve lost my way

I don´t want to loose you as well

When I made those promises

I though I would keep them

But soon I had to face the truth

Something´s tears and words can´t mend

And that was all that I had to give

I came to help, but I came empty-handed

Nothing went the way I planned it

 

I wish for a rainbow over the bay

But wishing won´t take your pain away

I couldn´t handle seeing you in pain

That´s why I tried to walk out of the rain

So maybe then I´d see things clearer

See under all the foggy layers

But you just saw me going, leaving you

So you put on your mask and your smile

But I know you better than you think I do

 

I´m just too weak to find the courage in myself

All I really wanted to do was help

And I did for a while but then things changed

Until even the best advice didn´t change anything

I put you first for as long as I could

But if I was broken then my help wouldn´t do you any good

 

So I´d thought I´d hide

To ashamed to come out

And you thought I said goodbye, and left you that night

I´ve searched my soul to find an answer

Searched for words to explain

I looked into my mind, but I looked in vain

All I have is the love I carry to you everyday

I´m sorry I can´t love you the right way
