I Miss Loving You

I Miss Loving You

A Poem by Johanna
"

"At least that´s the only answer I can find, we had our life drawn out, and then someone erased the line.."

"

I´m driving slowly home

Cause I don´t want to go

My girl is crying on the stairs, in front of our house

And I put her there

I´m the reason for those tears

Even though I know how much she hates to cry

She looks up, whispers “hey”

As I turn into driveway

I step slowly out of my truck

I want to run, I almost drive away

Remember the days when my arrival made her face light up

I walk slowly over the gravel

Fighting an inner battle

I can´t run away like our love did

I sit down in silence, next to the girl I used to love

Where did it go, the love we miss

She doesn’t know

There´s no need to start yet another fight over it

I miss loving you

It had all come together for us

When I said I love you I never lied

But somehow we went and changed inside

At least that´s the only answer I can find

We had our life drawn out

And then someone erased the line

My hands are shaking

And on the gravel I drop the key

I know you well enough to know

You´d never be able to take it from me

When you went inside that day

You locked the door

I wasn´t there to protect you anymore

I care about you; I miss the sound of your voice

But without love we didn´t have a choice

How can you be everything, and then go back to being a friend

Baby we could pretend all we want, but it wouldn´t work

I´m driving away, car leaving a cloud of sadness and hurt

Turn on my lights since the road´s not lit

You in my arms, I´ll remember it

I´ll remember until the day I die

Baby please, don´t forget, don´t forget us yet

Even if we´ll never understand why

Don´t forget summertime, when you were mine

On a endless day in July
