Lines

Today was a sad day.. so I wrote a sad poem

No one prepared me for this

Time passes without me

What did I miss?

I fall out of the patterns

fall right through the cracks

and no one knows how to help me back

I've been talking and praying

and searching my soul

I hear what they're saying

but it doesn't make me whole

and I try but they say I didn't try at all

What is all of this for?

If they don't believe in me

No one will remember my life

Not the ones that I knew

or the ones I passed by

and I tried to make a difference

But I felt I lost the fight

Always higher to go

I got scared of the lights

Do you see my face

or do you see the lines

All emotions that time

Tried to inscribe

and I sang today but I haven't sung in a while

It felt good

at least when I'm gone

There'll be a melody left where I stood

Nice write! Enjoyed the lucid imagery and narrative. From a technical stand point the phrasing is a little off, in particular the last 4 lines, and some more punctuation needed, perhaps. I know technical writing isn't a big concern for some people, I personally feel it helps tie things together, and often times gives the narrative voice a sense of purpose, even if that purpose is to not have one.

All that being said I still enjoyed the raw emotion this poem had to offer and was, all together, good work!
