And So

And So

A Poem by John
"

A

"
When people were dismissive of me,
I grew in strength and clarity,
And saw my life as it might be.

When words were flung and insults mimed,
I became both deaf and blind,
But inwardly, alone, defined

Where I could go, what I could see,
The many worlds ahead of me,
What I was, what I would do and be.

I was always running behind what people expected of me...now I am at the point where I have caught up with myself and what I do...and I can look on it with pride...Teaching has been a blessing to do.
We have to ignore the insults, ignore what wee are supposed to do according to the world...we have to be comfortable in our own world.

Thanks for your comment Jacob. It can take awhile to get to the place you talk about
Sometimes running out those negative emotions others throw your way help you grown and learn to believe in yourself

Poetic Beauty

It’s not always easy to achieve but it definitely is very important
Sometimes walls and barriers. Make us stronger. Being deaf and blind would make us use our other senses. A interesting dance of thoughts. You made the reader ponder and think. Thank you John for sharing the amazing poetry and your thoughts.
