Work In Progress

Work In Progress

A Poem by Lucien

On a side street of longing the
lovers sing
carefully crafted words to a woman
...one woman

Martryish men carrying billions of
years in their hands, extend them
from their rooted mire. The upturned
flower falls short, wilting on a dirty
earth

I ask you to stare from your window
toward the passing cars, the walking
souls, the late-lit windows of buildings
above.. Every soul has once been loved.
