I Said The Wrong Thing

This is about accidentally hurting people's feelings.

I said the wrong thing, I didn't stop talking
I feel as though I'm a dead man walking
I saw her tears, and heard her sobs
And as I watch her, my heart throbs
I hurt her feelings, made her cry
It's times like these when I want to die
My friend is hurt, and it's me who's to blame
I can't even manage to say her name
I never said sorry, and watched her go
She'll never forgive me, this I know
Why didn't I apologize, why was I cruel?
She's the victim here, and I'm the fool
She doesn't talk, and glares at me
I didn't even realize I was talking
"I'm sorry," I said, and hung my head
I was filled with relief, and no longer felt dread
She widened her smile, and took my hand
"It's okay," she grinned, "I understand."

many times and had it happen to me it always hurts when you hurt a friend or someone you care about the good thing is if they truely care and are truely your friends they will forgive you. very well put out there thanks for sharing

this is beautiful! i always speak before i think and i often end up saying something wrong and completely awkward! but i have surrounded myself with people that know that i have no filter and because they love me they can accept my apology without too much hurt. the people that can't do this get tossed out because they aren't worth the heart ache.

Thank you. Life is truly a cliche, how shocking to find someone who thinks so as well. Life is much like a person as well. Because when it comes down to it, life is merely emotions. Know what I mean? Happiness, sorrow, anger, envy, pride, and hope. Emotions shape and decide our lives, they can end them as well. And because of this, life is emotions.
