Violence Makes the Man

Violence Makes the Man

A Poem by Jonathan CuzBubbawicz
"

The poem reflects on the internal struggles faced by the speaker due to their past experiences, contrasting their violent history with their current gentle demeanor.

"
You will never know the violence it took, to be this gentle.
The pain suppression you learn, making you go mental.
People see the shell of a man, never investing in the core,
Family and friends don't recognize who you are anymore.

Experiences change you, your actions are what are important.
They take your kindness for weakness, I find it abhorrent.
If they could see in the mind of the madman locked away,
The darkness has consumed all the light, left in disarray.

Your whole life, you had to fight, to kill or be the one killed,
The darkness after years, you perfected keeping concealed.
The demons you have lived with for years within your soul,
Training and learning how to keep them under control.

Only letting them out when needing their strength,
Never trusting them to stay out for any length.
They stuck with you after you began taking life,
The soul getting cut into pieces with hell's knife.

Just know my friend the demons cannot be trusted,
You will end up in chains that are bloody and rusted.
The violence makes you stronger and should be a lesson,
The gentleness I give to the world is the violence's blessing.
