Innocence is Bliss

Innocence is Bliss

A Poem by Joost

"Have you ever watched children play?
Do you see how they are true in expression?
How they show their joy and their anger
without the need to wear masks of deception
Now ask yourself have you ever watched adults play?"

Innocence is bliss. The moment guilt comes into play, something irreplacable is lost and what once was play starts to resemble war. War is nothing but a dirty game. Children run and laugh chasing a bunch of chickens down a dirt road. No harm done. Adults march at the beat of a drum down that same dirt road. The whole village slaughtered.
I don't like living in a world where those two happenings take place along the same road.
Now there's a puddle of mud. A dog sits aside it licking it's wounds.
