Celebrity Skin

Celebrity Skin

A Poem by Jordan Haley Nadja Black

I made myself a home
A hole beneath the ground
I'm spinning around the room in heels
I feel i might fall down

I dance to the beat of the music
I sing to the words of the song
And hope that nobody notices
That i'm already halfway gone

I'm scouring the streets
Looking to meet
Somebody that can satisfy my needs
Someone to make me famous
Someone to make me feel

I want the cameras to flash around me
I want them to see me shine
I want someone to notice my quality
I want to bathe in wine

And if fame refuses to befreind me
I'll find some other way
To make my mark
My end
My celebrity skin
