Burn

Burn

A Poem by Jordan Haley Nadja Black

Fire tends to melt ice
We've been told more than once
Fire tends to eat us alive
We've been told before
Fire tends to attack us from the inside, and burns towards the out
Fire tends to taint porcelain
And dirty its white-out

Water is sweet
Water is silent
In all seriousness, water is vicious
Rapid in its movement
Rude in its pace
Almost like words unspoken
And emotions portrayed

Earth
Keeps us grounded
Keeps our feet planted to the ground
Its a home, somewhere thats recognised and unrecognised everywhere we go
Its often cold
Its often warm
On earth there are often dull moments
The scent of the grass tickles my nose
Whistful, wanting
Your already known

Spirit within us is all of these things
Elements that touch us, engage us, entice us
Where they often kiss, consume
