Bite Marks

Bite Marks

A Poem by Jordan Haley Nadja Black

Today, as i was walking home
I felt pressure against me
I couldn't hold on
I faced a battle
I know i would not win
Victory has eluded me
Over and over again
I saw three girls
Each of them tall, decked out in designer gear
They'd bought first hand from the mall
I heard words ring around over and over in my ears
b***h, w***e, s**t, you dont deserve to be here
Apparently i was useless
Just an object, for no ones affection
A barbie who's hair you could cut
And through her in the garbage
Later that day
I sat in bed
I locked the door that night
I cried until i felt exhausted
Until i was no longer frightened
My eyes were dry
My lips were swollen
Everything about me was bitten and broken
Destroyed
In pain
Things would never be the same
And everyday became routine
One day a knuckle,
Next day someones buckle
Its a vicious cycle that can't be contained
