Long Stone Rows

Long Stone Rows

A Poem by Jordyn Zacharias

Tall Stone Men
In Long Stone Rows
With Marble Armour
And Granite Swords
Stand Awaiting Command
On an Empty Hilltop

Drums of Iron, Long Since Gone
And Martial Trumpets Sound
Speak of Tall Stone Men
In Long Stone Rows
Dead Upon the Ground

Water ran from Every Wound
These Stone-made Men Sustained
And as they Crumbled to the Ground
It Rained, and Rained, and Rained

But now the Drums are Silent
The Trumpets make no Sound
Those Stone-made Men
Long gone and Dead
Six Feet in the Ground
