Dark Shapes

Dark Shapes

A Poem by Joanne Jayne
"

Another one about sleep paralysis

"
Dark shapes against the wall
and I know you're inside me, feeding my pain.
Frightened of what isn't real
and I'm dying for you to begin.
Only the night to fear
as silence watches over me.
Screaming as you draw near,
with eyes open am I still dreaming?

Save me
I can't fight myself
It's just another nightmare
in this frozen shell

Stunning
and eloquent

Is the fight one to be battled alone - or is there a save ?

Really beautiful

Not a poet just a reader

A good unsettling piece. As an insomniac for me it captures the fear and frustration of the middle of the night. Whatever our night time Succubus is we all have a relationship with it
