En Clase/In Class

En Clase/In Class

A Poem by José Humilde
"

A kid in history class who can't get his mind off a girl

"

TRANSLATION!

..........................

I have you on my mind,

let me quickly explain it to you:

I see you walking,

I see you driving,

I see you in class while the instructor is teaching.

How can I tell you that I want to explore your heart?

Your soul is the Americas and I’m Christopher Columbus.

The thing is that I want you,

but I’m too afraid to tell you.

I think it’s best that stay in silence.

A lot of jokers say that it is impossible to obtain you.

To them, I say that I will be the last one laughing.

When I close my eyes, I think about the possibility:

Having you in my arms, and taking away the solitude.

This is a poem that I have been working on for some time. I provided an english translation...and of course it doesn't sound as beautiful as it is intended in spanish.

Basically what happens, he starts going off into a day dream during lecture...

let me know what you think...changes? title? Anything would be great! Thanks! :)

but i loved it! i think that so many people can relate to this! theres always that one person you are constantly thinking of, you want them, maybe they dont know...brilliant!

you should listen to the song "i will posses your heart" by death cab for cutie.
this poem reminds me of that a lot :)

I don't understand spanish so I read the English part. Typical beginning (a guy tracing his highschool/uni crush with his eyes).

"Your soul is the Americas and I’m Christopher Columbus."
-I just loved that one. lol

"When I close my eyes, I think about the possibility

Having you in my arms, and taking away the solitude."

The way he sounded determined is kind of cute. Nice write. Keep going.
