A Rejected Valentine's Day Card

A Rejected Valentine's Day Card

A Poem by JosephRFrancis

I wouldn't say you were perfect,

but perhaps something more,

each dimple and pore

patched with wattle and daub.

I wouldn't say you were a stunner,

cos that's far from the truth,

but your hair holds the warmth

like a thatched-cottage roof.

I wouldn't say you've a good body,

you're no Britney Spears,

but they built us to last

for hundreds of years.
