Son of Love and Hate

Son of Love and Hate

A Poem by Josh Anderson
"

Born from the most extreme of two emotions, and the bi-product of being an outcast, I dub thee the Patron Saint of Pain.

"

I'm the son of love and hate
Better known as the Patron Saint of Pain
A victim of lovers games
A martyr walking in heavens flames
Reading scriptures sworn to save

I'm the poet who dreamed and cried
And the Patron Saint of Love and Suicide
With a bible in his hand
With a line drawn in the sand
Between the boulevard of saved and lost

I'm the sheep who lost his way
And the Patron Saint of Hearsay
No one knows my past
No one's ever asked
But maybe they never had the time

I love the rhythm and emotion in this. The contrast and contradictions (Son of both love and hate) are beautiful and it happens to be one of my favorite elements in poetry. The fluency adds a sense of power as well, reinforcing the overall feeling even further. Good job, this is a wonderful poem. One of my favorites on here.

I like the rhythmic nature of this and it is so easy to relate. Of course that the descriptions touch me in more ways than one and that commonality is exactly what binds it all together becuase I suppose you could have added as many paragraphs as you wanted but the Image of Son, Poet and Sheep sufficed.

Thankyou Joshua

Very vibrant
