JokerA Poem by Josh AndersonEven jokers can pull an ace
The deck was never the same
When the Joker pulled and ace In the worlds cruel and cynical embrace They still tried to put to shame What already had a painted face The mockers stood amazed When the Joker rose above them all He bowed and gave a cheerful call As the Queen trembled in fits of rage And burned her ivory hall The gambler stacks the deck against himself Fifty two chances for one more mistake But a Joker in the deck may yet pull an ace But a plastic smile may never tell For it's just a painted face © 2014 Josh AndersonReviews
