The Best of Your Days

The Best of Your Days

A Poem by Josh Anderson

I spent the best of my days
Seeking out empty smiles and praise
Just someone assuring me
I could be like the guys on the screens

You could spend the rest of your days
Trying to tell yourself it's just another phase
But the scars under your sleeve
Say something else entirely

We could spend our golden days
Looking back on things we could have changed
But what good is looking back to the past
When time is already coming up fast
