Rip

Rip

A Story by Kroma

You know very well who you are, and as you let your lips collide she grips your neck.
The old clock in the room ticks as the mechanical sounds remind your heart to beat.
Its so quiet.. their footsteps climbing the stairs could not be any louder as the rest of time stands still.
Patiently you let her claws tear into your skin.

When you're a free man the prisoners want your life. To take for themselves. To smother like all things worth loving.
When you're a free man time matters not.

The footsteps are closer. A frail wooden door with a shanty lock is the only thing between you and them.

Time stands still..the tick and tock of the clock distorts. Each time the second hand moves the sound echos deep.
She has tears in her eyes, but you promised her she'd never be lonely again.

Quiver more.
Tug her lips.
Her hair tangles around your vision resembling the forest trees.
I was a lost boy. Just running in the woods.

Forget to breathe.
Your eyes roll into you're head.
The ground shakes, or is it just my bones?
I need her and I'm scared.

but

All battles are fought by scared men & women whom rather be somewhere else.

One last kiss before the door splinters open.
In a explosion the plywood shoots like sickles.
My skin guards hers, and as i bleed she floats into the air and fades into safety.
These monsters..the footsteps sound like cannons now that its just me here.
That damn clock ..was it even real as i watch it fall onto the ground from the wall it rested.

I show my teeth. Saliva spews out as i scream.
I march forward with my bare hands and I...

Rip..Rip..Rip..

The hands of the invaders pull at my limbs.. but I fight.
I never was supposed to come back from this.

Theyre will always be a day when lost boys and girls like us with not "be"

Today was not that day.
I try to remember the feeling from the moment before you left.
My exsistance was perfection, but now my persistance and resistance is all I have.
The battle is bleeding..not sure if mine or monster.
I..I tried to fight and I wont quit, and you knew that.
Watching as I begin to fall to the masses of hands ripping my flesh I feel you again.
Ascended a moment before you came back..

I never doubted you.. I just wanted to protect you.
Life had abandoned me, but you hadn't or would not.
As you ascend you take me under my arms and drag me with you.
Lost boy and girls find a home together and I came with you.
With you my battles are already won.
