Another Last Time

Another Last Time

A Poem by JT

Hey woman, where have we gone?
where have we been?
this life keeps on changing
and I would love to live it all again

All of the times, all of the nights
when nothing else was going quite right
I could always count on you being
the only good thing in my life

Back when you used to cover up
and I would never stare
whenever you showed me
your beautiful long black hair

(Chorus)
All of the good times
fade away
before you realize
they were ever there
all I got left are my memories
I hope you know that I still care

Thinking about the past
brings a smile to my face
like the ones you'd always give me
when i travelled to your place

Two fools walking down Holland Avenue
where I'm making stupid jokes
and you're making fun of me too

Do you remember
the days on feather lane
when every night felt like a party
except for the heart-breaking pain
and do you remember
all the nights drinking
or when we walked
to the grocery store one day
and I always used to think
2 black men living in a house on that street
was just a little gay

(Chorus)

We had this connection
that I didn't get with others
even though sometimes we wouldn't speak
for what seemed like was forever

I know life can get crazy
and we sometimes lose our minds
but one of us would always find the other
we'd want the other back in our lives
and I know I'd fall for you
another last time
