Remember the Bay

The sun shined bright that day.
Its rays covered your face,
It was peaceful when we swam in the bay.
The look in your eyes made my pulse race.

It was you that my heart chose.
A tale as old as time but this is where I begin.
I saw a petal fall from the rose
As I remembered again.

There in silence the tears began to fall.
Your bright smile, I remember it all.

The way your hand held mine,
Your touch had been shy.
Now all the petals have fallen in a broken line.
I'm not ready to say Good-Bye.

With my heart heavy I went back yesterday.
There were storming clouds,
I found no words to say
My pain, my sorrow...It was all too loud.

You were always so proud

At the bay the waves, one by one, splashed against the rocks.
My tears blew in the wind as I remembered
My laugh because you never wore any socks.
Your eyes were shut in mid December.

It is you that I will remember

The glass fell and shattered
And the rose, with no petals, was left bruised and battered.

You were all that mattered.

When I was younger we use to go away for the summer and I would always meet the coolest person and become infatuated with them. Everything with them was like magic from talking to holding hands to climbing trees and drinking grape cool aid but it always ended and that last day was the hardest as the dark clouds of thoughts over cast the sun that was still beaming on us and they were missed always remembered even til today. Sweet poetry one that shows intimacy between two who was only met to meet for a season. Nicely written.
