A Monster Anew

A Monster Anew

A Poem by Juan Santana

She turned her head, she cackled and screamed
I fought for my breathe though I was losing, it seemed
For a second or two she paused in mid-air
Then zoomed to the ground, never breaking our stare

Landing in a puff, she was lost to my sight
I turned just to look, but then felt her sharp bite
I started to scream, she too shared a shriek
A chunk of my neck torn and lost to her teeth

I then felt the power, the rage, no more fear
My screams grew to cackles, my grimace to a sneer
My breathe filled my nose with the stench of decay
My body was thin, as it withered away

My bones felt so brittle, my joints filled with mold
My skin thin and stretched, it wrinkled in folds
I stumbled to my feet, laughing through pain
My eyes glowing red with the purest disdain

Hate fueled my flight bringing gifts to the living
So I laughed, because death was the gift I was giving

Try to use my description of the creature i become to help me better form a new breed of monster. I'm trying to create something new from this poem that i can use in other stories and such. Thanks
