Foolish

Foolish

A Poem by Julianna Marie

Eternity would be so simple to spend with you,
racing towards forever like words on a page
--inching towards death every minute, while
killing our past so carelessly.
Losing touch with reality, I am not scared--
all I can see now is you--
racing towards forever.
...Somebody told us we were foolish for
killing our past so carelessly,
never knowing of the consequences.
Unveiling ourselves to each other and the world,
defining ourselves in each other's eyes.
...Somebody told us we were foolish for these things.
Everything became nothing and you and I became everything;
Nothing is all we ever needed.

"...Somebody told us we were foolish for these things.

I like how you stopped the clock on this one.
Everything seemed to stand still as you spoke
about the future. Great work.
