Echoes

Echoes

A Poem by MsJewel

photograph ~ compliments myopera

Where slow waves sweep a tender shore

and sands of time so gently slept

holding our love forevermore

on pillows soft, this dream we kept

‘til tides they rose, his sweet goodbye

was lost somewhere, the cloudy sky?

And while I searched the clouds of gray

as soft as slow as my heartbeat

that filled the space where he once stayed

not empty yet, not quite complete

the tears they fell, the tears they stained

caught in the clouds his love remained

But when the moon with languid light

was softly swept with balms of spring

it glistened through a cloudy night

as melodies would softly sing

and I could hear the lovely score

a soft echo from shore to shore

And it was then, the joyous shine

of moonbeams danced upon the sea

a veil of hope felt so divine

embraced my heart, serenity

The endless bounds true love will know

when echoes weave a moonlit glow

I myself have a habit of finding a unique picture that appeals to me, and using that as inspiration to write something creative. Of course, reading other poets is and always will be a great motivator to get me writing too.
For this, your pictures and poems are indeed inspiring.
Well done.

First of all, excellent structure. The flow is smooth and rhythmic. The imagery is soothing, with warm sadness. Greatly enjoyed this piece. Thank you for such creativity.

Angelical, as usual. One question, should it be "... and slow as my heartbeat"?

welcome :)
You've written another piece that soothes the savage soul, my friend. And your references to the sea makes me yearn to sail a ship from one shore to the other. Very well done!
