A Cloudy Moon

A Cloudy Moon

A Poem by MsJewel

art ~ Karol Bak

~~~
It is gray
when winds of dawn blow from aching rivers
and the roses wither in the mist
as the rain meets the tide
It is quiet
when silence speaks and deaf ears hold
only the whisper of the clouds
covering the moon
Forgive the clouds
as the rain falls upon our golden bed
of lavender scents and pairing birds
and peach blooms rising
like a thousand torches
shining
in the wake of this cloudy moon
(rest and hope for this)
Yes,
it is gray and it is quiet…
Forgive the clouds
~~~

Atmospheric. I liked it but may I make some small observations.
Roses bloom in June onwards, at least in UK. Peaches blossom early spring and lavender june/July onwards. Birds pair in very early spring also. As a gardener I'd notice these things conflicting in your poem. HOWEVER that does not detract from the lovely descriptive flow of the poem. Forgive me the criticism. Mad Englishman

Favorite part of the poem. Full of imagery, and I do believe in forgiving the clouds, for it's only in their nature to rain and cover the moon.

Thank you for your lovely comment. I appreciate it very much :) Julie
When the clouds half cover the moon its like looking at the special effects of a horror movie for free. Your words weave a magical scene.

Love this one Julie...a perfect fit to the dark cold blustery cloudy morning sitting before me. It sure did make it so much more bearable. Stunningly beautiful my friend, the entire feel of this piece captured me.

Thank you sweetie! :) Julie
wow, forgive the clouds, it is their job to hold and release rain...

forgive others who hurt us, maybe it is their job to inflict pain

just so that we can be tested in life.

you always say it with such beautiful imagery.

Sigh....your pen flows with the most beautiful words. I agree with Frieda...you are the mistress of love scribbles. So delicate and smooth....vibrant with the colors of love even when it is grey. Lovely Julie!!
