When we were one  heartbeat strong

                 united

we lured the sunlight in each dewy dawn

silken, soft and secrets shared in whispers

our skin a blush

                    painted of a rose

 

Blooming sweet daydreams, petals fluttered

upon the winds of time

                         ‘til blown away

I fade to white, the fall of snow impending

and yet the lust of spring still lingers on

 

My heart beats faster, though so much softer

aching for your charms

                      a hunger known

new love may find me…perhaps tomorrow

yet not quite as sweet when compared

to a heartbeat strong once united

The painted scene is full of very pure gestures and wishes. The painting by words of light of serene of excitement they all seem to reconvene as life seems to unfold and the presence of a new love may be arriving. So as the possibility becomes ever more real the heart beats faster in anticipation in hunger yet not a comnparision for the love that used to be.

This poem breaks my heart Julie. Two as one beautiful rose, soft, fragrant, the charm of the garden until the petals fall. Still some of their scent lingers, but the beauty is all but gone. beautiful as always, but sad to me.
