After All This Time

After All This Time

A Poem by MsJewel
"

~ a heartprint ~

art ~ vicente romero redondo

After all this time...

the white calla lilies still stand proud

against the multicolored palette of roses

warming the worn cobblestone path

as the morning breeze

weaves the song of time

                                effortlessly

ruffling the branches of the old willow tree

and I’m here

curled up in memories

watching a cascade

                                 of dew kissed morning glories

                                             dance through mother’s garden

if it weren’t for the shadows in the sky

                                  raining on my heart

it would be just as she had left it…

I love it, just love it and beauty of it paints a gorgeous picture without the painting (dreaming that's me, hehehe) The somber ending is beautiful and if is it true for certain she is proud of you. Everytime I come here, I know peace and calm is awaiting tickled and freckled with the most beautiful words. Thank you so much again.

Funny how the simple things bring back good memories. I replanted my Grandfather rose bush in my yard. Every year the rose bloom and I remember his face and kind words. Thank you Julie for sharing the amazing poetry.

Rose bushes keep coming back and become stronger. Just a small piece will expand to beautiful roses.
A beautiful poem with a sad end, Julie. However, a cloud in the sky is not always the beginning of bad weather. :) Rudi

Your most welcome
beautiful flowered paths the way to the garden of ones heart. Come walk throughout the garden of multi-colored roses and snap dragons in all the colors that remind me of you all the hues.

It is such a special bond a mother has with her daughter
And I know when you think of her you always think of the beautiful flower she loved.

And I also know when you write of her and calla lilies
You honor that love with your beautiful poetry.

This is simply lovely my sweet friend.

Is the house still in the family?
Curled up in memories...this was beautiful and brought back memories of my mother who loved raising a garden full of flowers. I like your writing ability. Kathie

I hope the memories this one brought back are lovely. Thanks so much Kathie :) Julie
I have to say I'm not usually affected by poetic beauty, but this piece paints a vivid image, and I don't mean the balmy afternoon. It speaks to coming back to a time of solace, youth perhaps, when everything made sense--when there was happiness; Now, it like returning to a childhood home, it's all the same, just as you remember it, but adulthood, and pain make it hard to fall back into the memory. A great write. I'm glad I came upon it. Good luck in your future writing endeavors.
