Missing you

Missing you

A Poem by Anna

I dampen my dry lips with my ever persisting tears,
That stream down my face,
As my voice is choked back and strangled by sobs,
My mind is a race,
Sprinting straight for the end of the earth,
Will I find you there?
I lay awake, and miss the pressure of your hand on mine,
Your soft stroking thumbs, urging me it will be alright,
I want to fly in the open skies alongside you
With a banner of proclamation,
He is mine!
Fear has been filling my icy veins,
And traveling at warped speed to my heart,
Frozen, chilling my insides,
Until I am as cold as the outside winter night,
Our love is strong, holding us, uniting us together,
But I yearn to be with you,
To obliterate the plague that has traveled my body,
Sickening me,
I want to set myself free,
To rip the strangling web of lies,
And acclaim with utter confidence,
Who I am and who you are,
I am innocent as the white billowing curtains,
But my angering flames engulf me,
Share my fire, treat my burning thoughts.

Wow, this is so impressive! I love the way you describe how much you need this person and how passionately you feel about it. Great job!
