The days go by, the sun does set

I remember the time that we first met 

The way you smiled down at me 

As I open my eyes for the first time to see

 

I look around at you and Dad

Realising that this is not so bad 

I stretch out my fingers, oh so small

I grab your thumb, and you hold your head tall

 

You told me that Dad sang a song

One I'll remember my whole life long 

The one with the little ray of sunshine 

A song that reminds me you'll always be mine 

 

You were there to watch me grow

You taught me the things I should know 

You kept me safe and protected me 

You would put a bandaid on my grazed knee

 

Your always there with love and care

Noone else could ever compare

You are the one I look up to 

You are the one who gets me through 

 

Your my mum and I love you so

It's something that you'll always know
