Day Dream

Day Dream

A Poem by Katie Wan

Sitting in class I look to my left

Next to me sits a majestically beautiful Pirate ship

I’d never seen such beautiful craftsmanship

Drunken pirates stumble across the floor

Each wielding a new shining sword

They see my gaze and force my eyes away

Sitting in class I look to my right

A land of lilies fills the floor

A young blonde girl leaps around through the multicolored petals

A soft happiness floats above the clouds

I’ll leave her to her own joy

One more look to the back of me

A dark sad scene plays out

A young pale man"alone

I go to see if he’s alright

He doesn’t seem to be

I take one step forward and am brought out of my own dream

I vow then to never day dream again
