I have to fight for normalcy

I have to fight for normalcy

A Poem by KLGreen

I sit
Perched on the edge of my bed
Filing my nails with an emery board
Looking as if the cares of the world
Don't touch me
But in the furthest reaches of my mind a war rages
Serotonin waves a white flag
Because she hasn't enough men
The neurons are pros at friendly fire
And the battle ground is lit up
with the Lightning of mania.
But the klonopin is kicking in
So there's a cease fire.
So I take advantage of the truce
Sitting a minute
And doing something normal

Yes!
Life is a war raging against itself and we are the casualties trapped in the middle.
Well said and to the point, dear poet.
