UnseenA Poem by Kristal McDolgleThe tale of my struggle with seeing my inner beauty as everyone else claims to see.
She is beautiful but not in beauty as you know it;
No, she was beautiful the way storms give way to rainbows; Dark, mysterious, wrecked from every ounce of grief she's ever bore yet smiling; Smiling because the light in her defeats the demons that have taken up shelter within her head; She's a picture of disaster wrapped with silver bows just waiting for someone to unwrap her; Often she wonders whether there is someone out there that is willing to be brave enough. It takes strength to love her. She doesn't need your love. She doesn't want it. Everyone she let in turned away. This girl is content in the hell her heart has made home for it is there she finds peace. All she has ever wanted was just to see the beauty everyone else sees. I talk of her so freely for I know her; She is me. © 2016 Kristal McDolgle |
