Retaliation

Retaliation

A Poem by Alex P.
"

A poem I've written in retaliation, you know who you are.

"

I look on with adoring eyes,

From you my emotions I cannot disguise

Each stroke of pen you make is sheer genius,

But your concerns and insecurities are kept between us

Every time you allow your mind to interfere,

I heave a sigh, I’ve told you, dear,

It isn’t true, all these instances you fear,

The proof you need is written on the paper, here

Your words are like liquid gold,

Willingly flowing into your mould,

And here, in this sleepy respite,

I write this for you to prove you right

No, this is not my usual style,

But this isn’t so bad; I could do this once in awhile

Hopefully this brings a smile to your face,

From your mind, your angst shall I displace

While reading it I thought about someone I knew, I love poetry like that, I always harp on about how relatable things are, but to be able to relate to a writer and what they've written is something special.
