Why do I love you?

Why do I love you?

A Poem by KTgoestocollege

Why do I love you?

You walk not knowing my name, but I think you recognize my face

You walk past with your friends

You don’t know my heart is pounding

Because we’ve never spoken before

Everything I think I know about you, I’ve imagined

Your perfect to me

Your pitch black eyes complimented by dark tan skin

Your hair always seems to be perfectly messy and it compliments your beard

Your love another person, and I have no right to be jealous but I am

You have never breathed my name, but I’m completely hooked on yours

Why do I love you Haider?

Its a nice poem but, with constructive advice in mind, I feel there is something missing. It gives the impression that its real and the author has experienced this but the writing does not connect with the reader. The anguish and hopelessness is not conveyed. Perhaps adding some meaningful or invoking language will help this. For example: "You compel me", "Im infatuated", "Oblivious to my pain", "Hopeless love"
In short try to use language that invokes the feelings you want the audience to feel. You have succeed in doing this in the last couple of sentences ("You have never breathed my name, but Im completely hooked on yours"). The feeling of being 'hooked' on someone can be imagined and conveys a feeling of intense love. Only mentioning his name at the end of the poem was also really effective. I really thought that was great! :D
Some grammar points are that 'your' in all uses in your poem should be changed to 'you're', as in 'you are'.
Overall a very expressive and relatable poem!
