Eternal Doughnut

life in all it's sweetness

Bobbin’ on a cinnamon doughnut 

On the eternal sea 

Tastin’ the sweet sugar 

Left out for you and me 

Navigating through time and space 

Seeking answers to each question 

Never satisfied with what’s offered up 

Takin’ tangents to the new session 

Runnin’ around the circumference 

Of the doughnut tasting sweet 

We trip and fall all journey long

Yet sleep under the the same sheet 

We cuddle as we slumber 

Or thoughts meld into one 

Acknowledge each unto our own 

Yet on this doughnut we have fun 

Waking to a storm of sorts 

Reality punching in 

We knuckle down on doughnut ground 

Realising nothing is a sin 

Getting naked on the doughnut 

Showering ourselves with sugar that’s refined 

Dancing in nihilty 

My life is yours - yours is mine 

Within reflection of the prism 

In a single sugar speck 

We see every moment of the every when

Is right now - so what the heck….

Even though I’m runnin’ on this doughnut 

Life unfolds in every direction 

My reality sinks into insignificance 

I cease with striving for perfection 

Instead I run upon this doughnut 

Every breath I cherish long into the night 

For It is not long now, I’ll show you how 

This doughnut  - I shall take a bite.

While I enjoyed the metaphor, and the circle of life, thus let’s live like we’re dying; this seemed a bit spontaneous, some fun, rather than the usual introspective pieces I’ve read from you. All the elements are here, but they seem to be lacking depth. I enjoyed, but I could see how this could be skewed.
