A Poem by Kailani
"

.

"
Lying amongst the cool grasses of the meadow,
The clear blue expanse of sky spreading overhead,
Rich-soiled farmland behind me,
West Maui mountains in the distance before me,
The valley in between, edged by clear blue sea,
The Jacaranda trees edge my field in full bloom,
Looking like a single large purple flower on a long brown stalk.

I breath in deeply,
The scent of fresh rain and damp earth,
The faint smell of night blooming jasmine,
And of lavender from the fields,
And woven in the cool breeze, the faint scent of salt and the sea,
When I breath in
I breath in the Volcano, Haleakala,
I breath in Kula,
I breath in the island
And the glorious sunrise,
The warm sunbaked earth at midday,
The rich sunsets,
The trillions of sparkling stars at night,
The culture and language,
I breath in HOME.

About
I enjoy writing, and I"ll admit that I am not the best writer out there, but I love slipping into the worlds I create when I write. My second favorite topic is reading (no surprise there, right?), and.. more..
