Sleepless

Sleepless

A Poem by Kain Smith
"

A musing on the numerous nights in which I've been without sleep.

"
Sleepless I lie.
Awake in bed I stay.
Tossing, turning.
How irksome.

Sleepless am I.
Busy I stay.
Hard at work,
I cannot rest.

Tireless am I.
Amused I stay.
Gaming, playing
Late into the dawn.

Exhausted am I.
Haunted I stay.
I wish my mind
Would quell these thoughts.

Sleepless I lie.
Awake in bed I stay.
Tossing, turning.
How irksome.

Sleepless am I.
Worried I stay.
Held awake by
Thoughts of friends.

Tireless am I.
Inspired I stay.
My best thinking
Comes in darkness.

Exhausted am I.
Sleepless I stay.
Days on end.
Why can I not rest?
