A Poem by Kain Smith
"

Another short musing on culture and my current position.

"
Those once deemed failures
Are now those to whom I look
For inspiration.
For motivation.

Strange how time
Changes your perspective.
Strange how need of money
Strips you of all pride.

Strange how pride is
So often seen as both
A good thing and
A bad one.

Strange how vanity is worshiped,
But to actually be vain
Is a damnable sin.
How curious our society is.

How much I long for
When days were simpler.
Thoughts were less deep.
Less frightening.

Yet I relish this
Philosophizing.
And cannot stand
Shallowness.
