Strangers

Strangers

A Poem by Anthony Hall
"

Abandoned baby

"
QUITUI will see you for one day tomorrow
It could be for the rest of my life?
Aftter fifty years of searching
Am I to believe love will be rife.

When you handed me over
Did drink matter more on the day?
You threw me away like garbage
Had you no guilt or was I just in the way?

Don't tell me some sob story I want answers
Fifty years of pain heartache and tears,
Have you no feelings old woman
Or do you wish you could peel back the years?

This day could have led to tomorrow
But it seems compassion has turned to hate,
There is no forgivenesss in our lives
It seems the years have padlocked hearts gate.

Hi Lydi, yes sometimes the hurt and pain are just too much. Thanks for the awsome comments on a rather sad piece. Have a nice evening across the pond..Tony**

So much intense emotion in this one, Tony. Sometimes forgiveness is just not possible. When too much time has passed, the anger and hurt have taken hold. Good rhyming in this powerful poem. Lydi**
